Guidelines to Cemetery Arrangements

Greenwood Cemetery

Donations & Gifts

The City of Owen Sound has a policy for the public to make monetary donations toward the purchase of equipment, materials and/or vegetation to enhance the aesthetics, opportunities, articles and/or services within the City of Owen Sound under the City mandate. The donor may choose to contribute to or to fully fund the item.

Before each project is accepted, the wording and conditions must be taken to Council or the appropriate board for approval through the designated Department or Advisory Committee.

Contribution Acknowledgments:

  • Partial Contribution: the donor will receive a thank you letter of acknowledgment of the donation. The letter also notes the recipient service.
  • Fully Funded Contribution: the donor may include the cost of a bronze plaque (exterior) or equivalent (indoor) to note the donation.

The City of Owen Sound will purchase the items according to City specifications. Full funding must be received prior to ordering. For partial funding, the donation will be held in reserve until full funding is available for the item, subject to Council approval of the donation.
